jSpace Gallery
Marble Falls, Texas - June 11-27, 2009
The inaugural gallery exhibition for the Global Art Initiative was hosted and curated by Janey Rives at her jSpace Gallery in Marble Falls Texas. The exhibit opened on June 11, 2009, and ran through June 27.
The exhibit filled the gallery's main viewing area with original and giclee prints from five artists represented by the Global Art Initiative. The works shown to the right are by Herold Alvares from Haiti.
The exhibit included Empathy Training for young children. Here you see a family taking part in an exercise that helped them realize for themselves the challenges faced by disabled artists while at the same time seeing that these artists have successfully overcome their disabilities to create fine art.
