OUR MISSION

The Global Art Initiative's mission is to break the poverty cycle for disabled artists in Third World Countries. We are a non-profit focused on education and the sale of original artwork to benefit handicapped artists globally. We engage children and adults in art projects geared to developing an understanding of disability and the awareness that artistic ability is not limited by a disability.  Our hope is that through their experience with the Global Art Initiative, participants will take compassionate action, becoming donors in the larger shared humanitarian project.

Blue Bonnet Festival

Burnet, TX - April 11, 2009

Burnet, Tx. The Global Art Initiative participated in its first Bluebonnet Festival in central Texas, promoting its mission and getting children involved! Children of all ages tried mouth-painting to get a better idea of how truly difficult it is to paint as our artists do. What better way to gain appreciation and understanding for physically challenged artists who paint with their mouths or feet than by doing it themselves! Laughing between strokes, they painted on a chair which will be donated to the Herman Brown Free Library Burnet County Seat project to help fund the building of the new Burnet Library. more to come!
